Local Activities

Welcome to Uithuizermeeden

Uithuizermeeden is a peaceful village in the northeast of the Dutch province of Groningen, situated close to the Wadden Sea. Surrounded by open farmland, the village has a long and rich history. It was built on a wierde, an artificial mound once created to protect early inhabitants from flooding. That history is still visible today, with the 13th-century church standing proudly at the heart of the village.

Our hotel is located directly across from this historic church. From here, you can easily explore the surrounding area. Whether you are interested in local heritage, unspoilt nature, walking or cycling routes, or simply looking to slow down and enjoy some peace and quiet, Uithuizermeeden is a welcoming and practical base from which to discover the northern countryside and coast.
